The copperplate engravings feature various geometric, trigonometric, and astronomical instruments, along with mechanical and optical devices, mills, and more. Plate XI illustrates Mayer’s own invention, the “Recipiangel,” which consists of two diopter rulers revolving around a fixed point and was designed for measuring angles. Additional plates cover topics like geography (including a map of Europe and the Esslingen region on plate XXXI), sundials, fortifications, and architecture.
