A.P. Müller, Foreign Painters and Sculptors in Russia, Moscow, 1925. This art historical essay is dedicated to exploring Western influence on Russian art. The author pays special attention to decorative artists and portraitists, listing them by name, providing dates of their presence in Russia, and occasionally mentioning their works. Alexandra Petrovna Müller (1889-1941?) was an art historian and literary scholar. She graduated from the historical-philological faculty of the Higher Women’s Courses in Moscow with diplomas in “art history” and “history of Western European literature.” In 1915-1916, she attended the painting school of K.F. Yuon and I.A. Dudin. In 1926, she moved to Leningrad. From May 1, 1926, she worked as a research associate in the Department of Arts and Technologies at the Public Library. She collected archival materials for the biobibliographical dictionaries “Foreign Artists in Russia” and “Germans in Russia” (which remained in manuscript form). She was dismissed on January 14, 1929, due to staff reductions.
