It was supposed to publish 40 monographs (only five were published) dedicated to outstanding masters, the first of which was considered to be Mikhail Aleksandrovich Vrubel (1856–1910). The edition, prepared by a prominent Russian art critic Stepan Petrovich Yaremich (1869-1939), was published shortly after the death of the artist. The text is supplemented with numerous black-and-white illustrations, on colored inserts there are sketches for the murals of the Vladimir Cathedral in Kyiv and a reproduction of the artist’s most famous paintings. At the end of the book there is a “List of M.A. Vrubel with explanatory notes to it. We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
