He received important recognitions, among which stands out the designation of a plant species with his name: Pipermolanoi, discovered by Joaquin Molano himself on the Gorgona Islands. Starting from the 1950s, he dedicated himself entirely to academic life and research. Molano Campuzano was a special guest at scientific events in the United States, Israel, Soviet Union, China etc. He was the president of the Colombian World Council, member of the Presidium of the World Council of Peace, member of the National Writers Union (UNE), member of the International Geographical Union, and the World Federation of Scientific Workers. He participated in the Congress of the New Intelligentsia. Worked in the Ministry of Agriculture and in the Management of National Territories.
