The first edition in Russian of the famous work by Eugène Samuel Auguste Fromentène-Dupé (1820-1876) – a French painter, art critic, and art historian. The work was first published in the Parisian journal “Revue dos Deux-Mondes” in 1876 and consists of a collection of travel notes scribbled by Fromantène during his journeys to museums in Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the author’s long-standing reflections on the development of classical and contemporary art.
