In the late 1870s and early 1880s, he held the position of vice-governor of Tomsk. Due to his high official position in the Siberian administration, he had access to secret documents about state crimes and uprisings in Siberia. The publication includes interesting documents about the investigation of the course of the rebellion. 27 engravings from the collection of P.Ya.
