In Russian. Short description: comp. A. Morozov. Monogram guide.2008. The guide (index) of monograms is addressed to art historians, bibliophiles, librarians, museum workers and everyone who is interested in graphic art. For the first time, the monograms of the artists of the period 1918-1945 are so widely represented in the guide. The rather small temporal coverage is due, on the one hand, to the significance of this period in the history of Russian graphics, and on the other hand, to the fact that artists of other generations often had monograms (naturally – involuntarily) with their successors or predecessors. This manual allows you to accurately attribute a significant number of book and magazine covers, illustrations, posters and other printed materials signed only in monograms. Monograms are arranged in the book in alphabetical order: first – according to the Russian alphabet, then – Latin, and at the end of the list are monograms that are difficult to associate with any letter. In the Index of Artists’ Names, the figure refers to the corresponding monogram; the letter p in the dates of life indicates that the artist was subjected to repression by the state. The following is an Index of Artist Pseudonyms and examples of the use of monograms. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed description of the copies available. SKUMS002042
